Hello ! 

I'm Theo Aaron, a highly versatile musician, private music teacher, composer, and improviser trained in jazz and classical music in New York City. I play and love all kinds of music—rock, blues, jazz, pop, classical, and all the rest! I've been teaching for 20 years and enjoy working with people of all ages, levels, and personality types. Drawing on my own extensive experience and the fields of alternative education and psychology, I have developed unique methods for connecting with and supporting a great variety of students. 

 

With a special passion for the creative side of music, and an extensive background in improvisation and composition, I bring a wealth of insight into the inner and outer workings of music. No matter where you are in your journey, I enjoy teaching all of the various skills necessary for becoming a whole musician.

From the very first steps of learning to play an instrument to the most advanced concepts of music theory, from 60s rock to Beethoven, EDM to straight-ahead jazz, movie music to classic blues, composition to free improvisation—I love it all! 

 

The unique learning styles, personality traits, and interests of you or your family member will guide how we work together. My teaching is exceptionally patient, collaborative, and fun.
